The importance of exercise when on hormone therapy

Chris talks a little more about his experience on hormone therapy and what has helped.

The importance of exercise when on hormone therapy

My treatment for prostate cancer has involved three periods on hormone therapy. I was first treated with hormone therapy in 2011 and suffered from many side effects including hot flushes, fatigue, a loss of lean muscle tissue and an increase in fat mass.

I started a programme of structured exercise in 2013. Exercise is known to reduce the side effects of hormone therapy and, for me, the impact of my exercise programme has been life changing – it has dramatically improved my quality of life particularly during subsequent periods when I have been treated with hormone therapy.

In the video below I talk a little more about my experience and what has helped.
